Mr LuPone's double pirouette after the ballet combo was AMAZING!!!!

Absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. So much spirit and spunk. These people ARE dancing for their asses off. Wow. Nothing else to say.

when was this filmed? 1975?
-
@an7iguy excellent point. the revival was so, so slowed down.

Is this from the original Broadway or Off-Broadway?

The original was so much more fast and lively. What happened?

@mc90604 I think the current production was too focused on the dancing being clean and precise, rather than natural. As a result, the tempos are slightly slowed so that everyone can do everything as technically correct as possible, rather than let reality take its course. I would take energy over technical prowess anyday,

THANK YOU FOR THE UPLOAD!

(But WOW it's faster than the Tony Awards/2006 one.)

YES! Thank you for saying that, I am going through the revival right now in hopes of uploading it on YouTube and some of the leaps and kicks all seem so sluggish because of everyone trying to get their legs at impressive, albeit inhuman, angles. I prefer the energy this cast gives to the technical skills of the revival.
