http://www.siliconvalleyfit.com/nutrition-tips.html Personal Training, Palo Alto | Its estimated that 15% of white Americans, 70% of black Americans, 90% of Asian Americans and almost all Native Americans have trouble digesting lactose. Learn to test yourself without going through any formal testing first to determine if you have a sensitivity or intolerance to lactose.

Gas, bloating, cramping, diarrhea, foggy thinking, headaches are among a few symptoms that you could be experiencing by consuming dairy products. Learn how to take a test at home to determine if you have trouble digesting lactose. Also learn how you may be able to eliminate or reduce your sensitivity or intolerance to lactose - it's possible!

Eating foods rich in live cultures or probiotics help digest lactose. The more healthy bacteria in your gut, the more your body produces b vitamins (for increased energy). You'll feel less fatigued and get fewer colds as your immune system builds up strength.

To find out detailed information about how you can improve your health through understanding dairy products, intestinal health, probiotics and their interrelationship, go to http://www.siliconvalleyfit.com/nutrition-tips.html

  • In milk, people can be sensitive or allergic to either the proteins or the lactose. Either way, the more fat containing dairy products, the fewer proteins and lactose. If you are talking about yogurt, it has natural probiotics in it to help handle the lactose. In my opinion, milk is not a health food so you are not missing anything.

  • can youhelp me know if i have lactose inteloerance?

and it is considerd that peopl also have gluten inolerance with it

  • @TheRogueMonk there are some meds for bacteria culture in pills that are alive.. are they good to use to eliminate this problem or help it?

  • The best way to increase gut health as it relates to bacteria is to consume fermented foods like miso, nato, saurkraut, and kimchi - all of which have healthy bacteria which aide in digestion and promote a better balance of healthy bacteria in the gut. For good resource in finding probiotic supplements (also an important practice in gut health) I have written a blog post with more detailed information just google adin smith, blog and you'll find post on may 2nd 2010

  • Some of my clients can reverse there sensitivity to dairy by simply eliminating gluten and or soy (non-fermented forms) in their diet. You will optimally need to do this dairy elimination diet for 3 months, then re-introduce it into your diet to see how much dairy is affecting you. (You could do a shortened test for 7 days and that would give you decent information). Once you determine that your body does not do well with dairy, then I would test for gluten and soy in the same way.

  • Play back my dairy video one more time and record the steps to elimination. Also, stay tuned for my next blog post which will take your questions along with others I have gotten with this and I am turning it into an article. To find my blog just google "Adin blog"

  • Consume fermented foods like miso, nato, saurkraut, kimchi...and Sangria ha ha ha : )

It occurred just last week for the first time in my life. I was fine, then suddenly, I literally felt the rapid production of gas as it quickly expanded within my small intestine. Within half a minute my entire abdomen was in considerable pain & my gut was visibly larger than its ever looked in my life. The pain was from pressure & I thought that with that much pressure, it would certainly soon be expelled

  • It didn't take long to realize, this was something I'd never previously experienced. An hour passed, then another & they continued to roll by while the pain continually persisted. I drank a large mug of fresh mint tea. Then a large tumbler of prune juice with Metamucil. Later, another tumbler with Metamucil. I tried everything & nothing worked. After 24 hrs of pain, relief came gradually & slowly. The 2nd day, the pain was from a sore intestine but lesser

2 days later I got it again & ID'd it

  • this happened to me after I got noro virus and had to take cipro to get rid of it. now I can't have any dairy, or I get severe symptoms, like difficulty breathing, light headedness, stomach noises and others. and I use to drink milk almost daily, I miss it.

  • im asian and milk makes my stomach bubble and bloat then later makes me fart. but i dislike not being able to eat dairy. i have no problem with other dairy like cheese and yogurt. so maybe i should just avoid milk..

  • I am Lactose intolerant, I am a white person.

  • Well, don't you know lactose-intolerance is an evolutionary norm/process? As in, it's normal!! It's not something abnormal. So, stop trying to promote dairy and milk because people with brains & common sense aren't buying it. It's not 15% of white people. it's actually 25%. There are actually many negative benefits to it like high fat, protein and sugar. Studies show that only populations around the world that herd their own mammal (for meat or production of milk) still remain lactose-tolerant.

  • So I clicked on this video thinking "Hmm, he's attractive Maybe i can learn something from him about whats going on in my body" I soon sadly realized that he is very awkward on camera and uncomfortable to listen too. :(

  • @TheRogueMonk can the doctor actually test you for lactose and gluten intollerance ?

i wonder not if i have also gluten intollerance as i am fat very resistant to loosing it .

i wonder if my stomach is reacting like it hsould
