God Bless our troops!! They ARE ALL heros!!! They are over there, away from their families, serving in a place they don't want to be while these liberal pussies just sit and bitch and say how terrible we are and the world hates us. That is rather uncalled for my friend. If you wish to have your perspective understood and given credibility I would suggest you construct a more valid and reasonable argument to counter that which Awnok has said my friend.

With due respect I doubt such a sentiment shall become commonplace my friend; President George W. Bush attacked a society without reasonable evidence for doing so, yes it may have been to the benefit of humanity because this societies government could have indeed been a threat but as there is no evidence said President shall only be remembered as a bully.

Iraq and Afghanistan have been placed on the path of following US ideology; this is not necessarily advantageous nor liberating for them.

A hero is a person who alters an aspect of humanity significantly to the benefit of the humans involved in this aspect and does so with personal sacrifice. Dying for the piece of land a person stands upon most frequently encourages this ideology for others and is therefore not beneficial thus the person in the scenario you describe is not a hero it would seem.
