A typical summer day in Aspen....Must be something in the water!
This video was shot during the surprise Aspen Splashmob dance party at the 30th anniversary of Aspen's Dancing Fountain. (See the surprise dance Aspen Splashmob video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-zwXyoVoy8U)
The Balloon Hopper was the inaugural entry for the Nick DeWolf "WAcKEy Prize" (Water Activated Kinetic Energy X Prize.) There is an standing call for creative sculptural devices that can be powered by the computer controlled fountain on Aspen's mall. The jets spray straight up, providing an energy source for the sculpture. The balloon hopper was created by Greg Poschman in honor of Nick Dewolf at the fountain's 30th anniversary. The fountain was designed and built by computer engineer and inventor Nick DeWolf and sculptor Travis Fulton as a gift to the citizens of Aspen, Colorado.
