The 2011 winner of the 2nd annual Think Tank MBA Elevator Pitch competition is Henriques Viola of the think tank CEMO in Mozambic. In his speech, Henriques outlines the role his think tank plays in breaking down the barriers to growth in his country.
For the second year in a row, Think Tank MBA participants were invited to take part in a competition to compellingly describe their think tank in 90 seconds or less. Each participant had three days to come up with a pitch that could be given within the time it takes to ride an elevator with a stranger. This "pitch" can be used to introduce their work to prospector donors, and other interested parties. To encourage participants further, on April 28th the Atlas Economic Research Foundation hosted a competition, and invited friends from across Washington, DC. Each participant presented his institute and the audience voted on the top 3 pitches. The winner received $3000, and two runners up received $1000 each.
