On paranormal investigations the use of control questions is an important part of all ghost box and EVP recording sessions. A control question is basicly asking something to which there can be only one possible correct answer to determine whether or not you are communicating with an intelligent life form. In this short video I used such a question and got more than I bargained for. Was this voice caught on tape showing intelligence, was it a spirit answering my question precisely, was it just co incidence?

EVP or electronic voice phenomena as it is known is thought to be voices of those passed away trying to communicate with us captured on electronic devices. When trying to capture EVP, you can sit and ask questions or leave an audio recording device in a quiet room. When you play these recordings back, sometimes you will hear disembodied voices that were not present at the time, answering your questions or talking in general. This area of paranormal research was popularised when the film White Noise was released in 2005 starring Michael Keaton. The most popular method of capturing EVP is by using ordinary tape or digital audio dictaphone's or recording devices. One of the pioneers in this field was Dr Konstantin Raudive (1909 - 1974) and his experiments are still much talked about today.

  • You could hear that very clearly. Do you strictly speak with the dead? Or do you pick up others claiming to be inner dimensional or aliens or whatnot?

  • @EParanormal Hi, to date so far I only hear references of them claiming to be ghosts and spirits when I ask the question who communicates. I do hear references of aliens occassionally but never when I ask that particular question

  • ive just bought a voice recorder and wanted to ask you what other 'basics i should get to start with , also any advice would be appreciated, please inbox me if u can

    thank you

  • @the3aremine1 Hi, if your recording EVP, your voice recorder is the main basic. Also for easier reviewof recordings you want to be able to connect it to your computer for analysing with some sort of audio software like Audacity which is free. I have wrote a few EVP recording tips that I follow on my profile if it helps

  • How do you not get scared while doing these? how do you keep your cool?

  • @sassuhfrass93 I think I find reviewing the sessions send shivers up my spine more than actually doing the sessions. Hearing things that weren't present at the time of recording will never cease to amaze me

  • Hey, new commercial, "Even the other world knows about Sharpie!"

  • You think that's cool, they can also see accurately into the future 15 to 20 minutes. Test them on this. The reason why they can't foresee further than that, is due to the law of probability of change. They have also taught me the future is not set in stone, and can be changed. They also knew 3 months before I did, that my mom was dieing. I have a recording referring to her, and one saying, "Outlook dead". When she died, then I knew what they meant.

  • Surely its just coincidental? You can make any noise fit what you want?

  • Very intriguing evidence, Jon. Thanks for the upload

  • Oh, this is so clear answer. To me the voice that says "pen", sounds different than the voice that says "sharpie pen"..

  • I heard the voice say bee and shop!

  • Why do it in the dark with an NVG camera? The results shouldnt matter whether its in the middle of the day with all the lights on.. "ghosts" don't "come out at night" (assuming you believe this BS lol..)
