@jasongmb you can get them on ebay for less than $12 shipped...at least for the 97-2000 models...I actually got mine for a buck and change because of an ebay promo.
I got my new black handle for a buck and change off ebay and that included shipping! had it for months now. need to get it painted so I can install it one of these days lol :)
I used a piece of duct tape for a while as a pull "flap", but it finally fell off and my wife wouldnt let me re apply the tape, too embarrassing for her...lol ...I would be ok with the black handle but the wife says she would have to wear a paper sack over her head to ride in the car :D
@jasongmb Getting the door panel off is a snap. Don't forget when you get all of the screws out, gently pull on the bottom of the panel and continue around. When you get to the top, you actually have to lift up on the panel to remove it.
It is not as hard as it looks. We ended up going to the junk yard and got one for $15., the camry we took it off of had 286,000 miles. So if we keep repairing hopefully we will get there, clocking 120,00 now.
I have the same problem, but now the inside handle is broken. However I was able to get both inside and outside handles for $90.00. I am just dreading taking the door apart, you make it look easy. Maybe I'll try it next weekend. I can give you a # where you can get that door handle for $60 brand new, you'll have to paint it. The handle is black and will need to be painted. Hope to hear fron you
