READ FIRST, PLEASE!! This video is in the original, pure father-son relationship, as always. This (song) does fit the books even though it was impossible to show with the film's crappy story foorage; in the books, Lestat wanted to turn to Marius after Louis & Claudia left but didn't dare to, afraid that Marius knew all he had done and turned his back on him long ago. Even when he had gone to Armand for help, he thought of Marius, if he was watching even now. He screamed for Louis during those lonely and bitter years he spent, weak in the shadows but I recall a moment when he (Lestat) was resting underground and he saw Marius doing some photography or somehthing and he wasn't sure if it was a dream or for real and he called out Marius's name, but the ground muffled the sound... And how he in the end told Marius he (Lestat) couldn't even think of leaving him (Marius), not for very long anyway. (: I think all that was what I subconsciously thought of when I chose this song. Marius and Lestat are very important to me. All that's why I dedicated this to Anne. But because I know she hated the film I had to use for footage, I never sent this to her.

  • Lestat's maker suicides, it's killing me i can't remember Marius and Lestat's relationship in the books :s

Regardless lovely video!! I think the movie was way off track with the novels, it kind of just kept a general idea. But i think Lestat/Marius was interesting and most significant relationship in the movie, since it did a whole kind of I hate you father thing. Even though Lestat didn't bare any of that resentment in the novels since.. his maker buggered off so quick? XD

  • @trevents Thank you. I wouldn't give the movie even that much. I think it pretty much completely altered the general idea, And it turned the Lestat/Marius relationship almost completely upside down. The only tuly in-character moment is on the stage at the concert.

  • Marius IS NOT Lestat's father

  • @JUDASESCALANTE Not biologically but that's not the poiny. They have a parent/child relationship on emotional level. At some points Marius calls him his child & Lestat calls Marius a father & they act like a father and son. This is b/c 1.) Lestat's a childlike, bratty person & Marius feels fatherly feelings for him & Lestat looks up at him as the Dad he never had in his mortal father. 2.) They share a strong mentor/student bond resulting in M taking L as if he was one of his own fledglings.

  • Movie is SHIT, book is No.1.

  • @bb82zz Ageed. Though I think Stuart Townsend and Vincent Perez saved whatever little there was of Lestat and Marius to save.

  • i love Marius in this movie,he really is like a father trying to teach his younger, willful, almost always bratty son how to behave:)

  • He is Soooooooooo Hotttttt I can just taste him...

  • I didnt really mean the movie sucked, I just meant I wish they would have followed the looks a little more in the movie. (the acters did well though dont get me wrong, But magnus and all that would have been splendid to watch!) But no i didnt mean the film sucked, only meant it was a bummer about the looks

  • That's really very...something. Saying the movie is great when it butchers the books every way possible but also saying it sucks because of a hair colour difference... Oh well, it's just your opinion. The movie is good independently, in my opinion but as an adaptation, it sucks and it sure as hell has nothing to do with the characters's looks.
