Cuernavaca and Mexico have been in the news lately regarding some violent murders between the drugs cartels. I can not deny these facts; indeed about 50 people have been murdered in Cuernavaca during the past four months (as of April, 2010). However, these murders are ALL related to gangs involved in drugs trafficking. Not one civilian has been killed! 50 murders in 4 months is a lot, but this is not more as the murder rate in some neighborhoods in Miami, Chicago, Los Angeles, DC,... not to mention New Orleans. And as far as I know, not one of these cities have mentioned as a dangerous place to visit! So, there is no reason for not visiting Cuernavaca! The city continues being an attractive place. To prove my point, I took my wife and kids downtown around 11 pm... See for yourself "how dangerous" the city is!
@Rikan77trey more people are killed more in mexico yearly though

meh........Chicago got 100 murders this last april(during the past four months) it has about 130 right now, and most are also gang related, keep in mind Chicago is a 1st world city while that city u just metioned is a 3rd world city. btw mexico doesn't look as poor as people say,it just looks very historic, kind of stuck in time. 43 people were killed in April in Chicago up from last year which had 41 murders.
