Book of Enoch (Review)

(Genesis 6:1-8)

1 When human beings began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them, 2 the sons of God saw that the daughters of humans were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose. 3 Then the LORD said, "My Spirit will not contend with humans forever, for they are mortal; their days will be a hundred and twenty years."
4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.

5 The LORD saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. 6 The LORD regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled. 7 So the LORD said, "I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created—and with them the animals, the birds and the creatures that move along the ground—for I regret that I have made them." 8 But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD.

And to these also Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying, 'Behold, the Lord came with ten thousands of his holy ones, to execute judgment upon all, and to convict all the ungodly of all their works of ungodliness which they have wrought, and of all the hard things which ungodly sinners have spoken against him'"

I heard the uploader saying something in regards to Oxford University. I'd caution anything coming from them for some of us know them to be workers of darkness toward Christian Zionism over the past century. Scofield bible misinterprets a lot of scripture for Israel with lies and deceit by the addition of footnotes the reader reads that accompanies the bible written within each pages. Be cautious of it. Read just the 1611 King James Bible. A better method would be to learn Hebrew and Greek

Your theory is shared by an Early church father who accused the Jews of hiding the book. However, truth be told, there's a reason why the book we hold called Enoch isn't scripture. It's because, as it is today, it isn't. There are definitely parts of it that are Scripture. That is obvious when reading the Parables section. However, other parts such as the fallen angels mating, are more legend than truth. You could sum up this book as ""corrupted scripture". It's been mixed in with error.

The only Jewish scholars that I know of that accept Enoch are in Ethiopia.

I noticed you are using Lawrence's first translation of Enoch. You should know that it is the most unreliable. R.H. Charles produced the standard translation of Enoch in the early 1900's, and it's considered a classic. It's much more reliable. If not Charles, seek Vanderkam's modern translation released a few years ago. It's available to order on Amazon.

Hey there. Got your video from a Twitter link. I'm a couple minutes into it, but have already noticed some ... errors. First off, the most blatant is the date you give for "the earliest copy". It is not 100 B.C. The oldest manuscript of Enoch dates back 300 years before Jesus. Not 100. The Book of Enoch (or 1 Enoch, to differentiate it from the other 2 Enochic writings that came later), is actually a collection of a number of Enoch writings. The last part towards the end, is datable to 100 B.C.
