What he probably meant was that he wished Kasparov had an extended career so he could have a chance to challenge him to a championship rematch so to speak in his current form and knowledge of the game...between 1995 and 2008 he has had 13 years of study of chess and it couldve proved to be a very good contest...compared to the last time.
Anand recently (December 2008) stated that his regret is that Kasparov retired too early and that he could not play him! What's that? Did Anand mean that the games they played don't count, or that he was not the real Anand during those games? For the record, they played 69 games, Kasparov +23, Anand +8 and 38 draws. So, Anand what exactly you have to say to that!
