VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - The intersection of 70th and Heather Street has been re-opened following a lengthy closure as police investigated a fatal car crash. At around 2:30 a.m. Vancouver Police say they received numerous calls of a motorcycle colliding with a car.

The 44-year-old man riding the bike died at the scene, while the two people in the car are fine.

It looks as though speed may have been in a factor in the crash. This is the eighth traffic fatality of the year.

  • This is an awful scene and very surreal to watch. I hope the city installs a left turn arrow traffic light there cause that's a bad intersection to judge traffic. I met the rider last year and definitely considered him a friend. The conversations about music on the El Mirage trip still crack me up. I will play some "Funky Town" for ya.

    Godspeed,

    Scott M.
