@RoseWhiteRoseRed I am not sure but you can probably find a vegan version of it. I just did a quick google search and tons and tons of options came up.

Yes yes it is hahaha

@IAmNotDepression For sure. I remember feeling a little better when I took it. I wonder if SAMe is vegan.

@RoseWhiteRoseRed Yes B12 was one I forgot to mention. Let me know if you do try the combo. :) And tell me how you like it.

I recently tried cymbalta and had a horrible experience with it and am scared to do pharmas nows. I would like to try the 5htp and st john's wart maybe. My doc told me to take ginseng and vitamin d' because of my lack of energy and how low my d was...also b-12. It might help the depression, but the anxiety...that's another story. I think I'll just have to manage that myself haahhaa

St. John's wort is actually regarded as a prescription drug in quite a few countries - it's one of the most-prescribed antidepressants in Germany, for example. See a doctor before taking St. John's wort if you're taking ANY other medication, because it interacts with MANY drugs by changing their effective doses. (This includes other antidepressants, antipsychotics, anxiolytics, most types of heart and blood pressure medications, and all types of steroids.)

@andrewhcit Yes, that is why I said to always talk to your doctor. I didn't realize that St. John's Wort needs to be prescribed in some countries. In Canada and the States it's just in the vitamin aisles. But yes, always talk to your doctor, I wasn't disputing that at all. I just wanted to give some information.

@IAmNotDepression Sure. I just wanted to caution about St. John's Wort in particular, because it, more than the others, has serious interactions with other medications. Those who are curious about why should look up the cytochrome p450 (CYP) family of enzymes. (I left medical school because of depression and other health problems about halfway through, but still remember a fair amount from it.)

@andrewhcit Yup, I know that even in my medication write-ups it says to not take St. John's Wort.
