@cmulwee001 hmm, very interesting, ive checked joe sentieri's version, haha, amazing song aswell, its a bit faster then betty's version, but also a lovely version, nice how a song can have so many great versions.
@cmulwee001 .. to the foreign language lyrics. But back to this song. It was widely and erroneously reported that Petula Clark's French Language recording is the original. Maybe she was the first to have a big hit with the song, but the instrumental version by Franck Pourcel is the first ever recorded version. Another instrumental by The Four Dreamers, and a French version by Paul Mauriat featuring vocal group, Les Satellites also predate Pet's
@goodfellasunderworld Well if you like this version, you'll probably like the recording by Joe Sentieri, whose version is also in Italian. BTW a few years back someone sent me the lyrics of an English translation of "Chariot", and they have no connection "I Will Follow Him". Basically they are two different songs that use the same tune. That often happens with English translations of foreign language songs. Frank Sinatra's 'My Way 'is based on a foreign song but the lyrics are unrelated...
Yes, but nothing can top the original instrumental version by Franck Pourcel. Franck wrote it and first recorded the song in 1961. At that time, no lyrics, not even the foreign words had been written. Check out Pourcel's original
