Emotional Freedom Technique in alcohol and drug rehab settings can be very effective in treating addiction, as well as co-occurring psychiatric issues. EFT is a form of psychological acupressure, based on the same energy meridians that are used in traditional acupuncture to treat physical and emotional ailments. Simple tapping with the fingertips is used to input kinetic energy onto specific meridians on the head and chest while the patient thinks about specific problems or issues, whether they are a traumatic event, an addiction, pain, etc. Vocal positive affirmations are recited during the process. This combination of tapping the energy meridians and voicing positive affirmation is believed to help clear the "short-circuit" or emotional block from the body's bio-energy system, thus restoring balance to mind and body.

  • You are pretty!

  • Most species of snakes are non-venomous and not dangerous to humans. So, in general, a person who is to any degree aware of their environment (snakes go to great lengths to avoid the very dangerous humans) and is afraid of snakes is irrationally fearful. Unless, of course, they were actually bitten by a venomous snake in a very traumatic way, say, in childhood. Yes, I do EFT.

  • great explanation!!
