Highlights from the 2003 Catch Wrestling seminar given at Triton College. Here, Tony demonstrates the fundamentals of both the toe hold and the step over entry to the toe hold.
You guys Catch is NOT dead on the West coast. There's lots of guys that are currently training in catch! Most of the top 10 wrestlers in college are getting in MMA cause of the growth of the UFC. Just look at the light//welter/middle weight fighters in the UFC, there all wrestlers! Light heavy John Jones is greco roman who trains in catch. In one of his fight he submitted a guy with figure four choke! Catch is alive.
It's too bad we don't see any of this in MMA these days. Sakuraba was the last MMA fighter I saw use some Catch techniques. Josh Barnett sometimes will use Catch, but not often. It's like this is a dying art, and I wish some MMA fighter would bring it back.
Very informative, I enjoy learning all I can about catch. It is too bad this is so rare; I hope more people catch wind of this style. I really like how much more aggressive and top oriented this is compared to BJJ. I hope you upload more how-to videos since there is nowhere to train for this in my area.
Love this stuff man

Is it just me, or are they disrespectful c**ts in the background, paying no attention and talking over him?
