Sonic: Voice Acting Discussion

In Sonic Unleashed, He did okay, just a bit too much heavy breathing as the Werehog. Maybe Sonic Team just made him do it.

The video was just a quickie. This is where I just like to discuss about Sonic voice cast and things like that

seriously Jason doesn't suck, Ryan doesn't suck, as we all know, but it is just because people is whining and complaining too much about voice acting. I would also like to get Ryan back but I heard he is a father now and pretty busy with other things.

So is it true the 4Kids contract is going to expired soon.

Below is an explanation why Ryan Drummond was fired.

After the voice actor for Doctor Eggman, Deem Bristow, passed away in January 2005, Sega was faced with the problem of having to re-cast the English voice actor for this character. According to Mike Pollock, the current voice of Dr. Eggman, the problem was solved when Sega decided to hire the 4Kids Entertainment cast from the Sonic X anime, in an attempt to provide more continuity between the video games and the anime's voice cast. The news eventually trickled down to the community, announced by the previous voice actor for Sonic the Hedgehog, Ryan Drummond. Drummond claims that these changes were made without notifying the previous voice cast beforehand as does the previous voice for Cream the Rabbit, Sarah Wulfeck. The PlayStation 2 and Xbox versions contain the original Japanese voiceovers, though the method of enabling them is different for each version. Simon Jeffery, the president of Sega of America, responded to fans' complaints regarding the new voice actors, saying that Sega of America has no control whatsoever over the English voice acting in the Sonic series.

And another thing if junichi kanemaru is already fluent in both English and Japanese why can't they just use him as the English voice actor as well

Here's my opinion on all of them Ryan and Jason sound the same so I can't tell the difference and they did a good job on his voice but Roger Craig smith just ruined it it sounds horrible the Japanese voice is so much better than Rogers that's all

It took about 10 games and an entire anime series before people opened up to Jason.

I like Ryan and Jason because they play Sonic the best. If I had to choose between one of them I'd probably choose Ryan but that doesn't mean I won't choose Jason. Rodgers voice is just to deep for Sonic....
