This is my take on the original (1977) Star Wars opening crawl. All the editing was done in Corel Video Studio Pro X2.

The typeface used for the main body of the text is News Gothic bold and Universe light ultra condensed for the title of the film. The nearest I could find to this was Jedi Hollow which is very similar

I had a small problem with the main body of the text in not giving it to much perspective as it tended to distort the text too much, so it was a bit of a compromise. The text was done as a roll up first and then saved as a video clip, which was then placed on the overlay track and distorted to give the impression of moving away into the distance. This isn't meant to be an exact copy of the original due to the limitations of the software but just a simple demo showing what you can achieve with a bit of imagination

  • Hey john, just call me norman. I use SV8 but wanna try out cvs and yes, i agrees that simplicity is the best.

    As you notice mine is static but i will do more of motion when i can cos of rl committment. Take care john, you done a great job here.
