@WAQWBrentwood I read somewhere that several were spotted a while back running around California badged as Chevy's... But, the Holden platform must be getting long in the tooth and will be due for replacement... So, we may never get it after all...
@JWROWE3 Yes! I think Killing of Oldsmobile was SAD, But Killing of Pontiac was DUMB. While I can see the argument that Olds was making cars that were too close to Buick, But at the end Pontiac was NOT making re-badged Chevys (execept G5). The G8 Ute would have been unique in the GM line! Sadly, Tis ahs has happend before. The PT Cruiser was intended to be a Plymouth (look at early Plymouth histoey PA,PB etc and the Plymouth style grill. Maybe Chevrolet will revive the concept. Who Knows???
@WAQWBrentwood Oh, what I wouldn't have done to own the promised Pontiac G8 "ute" that was coming. It was approved to come to the US, but never made it. Have a look at the Top Gear video for the Holden maloo, here on YouTube and prepare to be in love...
@randomrazr The 1977 Chevrolet Suburban was about the same size as a modern Suburban. While CARS have shrunk over time (and bear in mind the 1977 Caprice was like a foot SHORTER than a 1976 Caprice!) Full Size Trucks,Vans and SUVs have been fairly consistant in size for over 50 years. (although the Cherokee has shrunk since the 1970s) In fact the Full size Dodge van has been using the same body panels from 1971 thru 2003 making it the longest used us body (Beatin the last Checker by 6 years!)
