  • although i do like aikido and see lots of potential...perhaps he dislikes that the chances for a grown man to be ever grabbed from behind in that manner are close to impossible.

  • Very good techniques excellent demostration

  • did you know that shi-ho nage , four directions throw, is the most spiritual of aikido techniques, because invoking the 4 directions, you are performing a shinto rite.Steven Segal, at the beginning of one of his movies, claps his hands four times to signal the beginning of class.Aikido is steeped in the tradition of the sword, and shihonage is specifically effective for sword defense.

  • Sensei Boaz, just curious what about shihonage you dont care for?I personally like the technique but never felt the right energy to pull it off on a resistant opponent, could this be why?

  • Thanks a lot for this video, I got very puzzled on my last class about this technique, now it is very clear!

  • How do you ascend through the dans? I've seen one or two testings here on youtube. But I can't seem to find anywhere that'll break it all down for me.

  • Yeah, well, he's a 4th dan. He kinda doesn't have a choice but to know the basics. And since he's a 4th dan, he does the basics very well.

  • its hard to believe u dont like the technique because ur movements are so fluid. Great demo!
