Benchmarking In Half life 2

***System Specs***
Original specs
Aspire M1100
Amd Athlon 64 X2 Dual core 4000+ 2.1 GHz
1 Gig of ram (756 in reality, the intergrated shares ram.)
ATI Radeon X1250 (intergrated card)
200 Gig Harddrive space, into two partitions, 100 each.

Most importantly, The OS is VISTA
Trying to show basic benchmarking on Vista

This Was bought from newegg for $400

*Minor Upgrades*
I added a Gig of ram
I disabled a few of the Graphical and the parental control options, the stuff that buggs you when you do any application.

*Half life 2 Benchmarking*
My first runthough of half life 2 and its extra episodes, the footage you see if from my first runthough, different scenes stressing the framerate

Most important thing to remember is that my framerate goes down while filming, almost more than half.
For the most part, its a steady 12 FPS while filming, while almost 30-40 at low/med graphics ingame.

Rundown of every scene:
1. The defending of the control panel
I was able to keep a good steady framerate at low quality while filming, its a bit choppy, but thats just along with everything else, this is not a gaming computer at that.

2. Medical hospital
The framerate got a bit choppy, i upped the graphics a bit while filming. But for the most part, it was decent

3. The Defending of Alyx
This was the major stress test of Frapsing with lots of onscreen action
The framerate was horrible while filming, it was almost unplayable.
Replaying this level without fraps, was fine though.

4.The Street
Med Settings, just small clip

5.Infested tunnels
Just a few boring scenes inside that annoying cave, not too bad for a half low half med graphics

6.The explosion
Just for kicks, play the game ya know.

Overall, not bad, even with vista ya know? its only about $450 computer after that ram.

i get low fps in smoke i have the same computer as this and i have 3gb RAM added which is the same type as the 512mb x2 RAM cards already in it. it was worse without the added RAM i don't know if i can put any graphics card in it because i don't know if it will over heat or the power supply is too weak. if anyone actually reads this plz let me know :)

If you have the stock power supply this PC has it should be fine for the Geforce 8600 GTX i bought, check out the FPS from my call of duty 4 videos

will this ati radeon X1250 run as good as this on a laptop with it in it (not talking ram or possessor) or will the laptop version be way worse?

Well, On a laptop graphics tend, in my opinion, to go a little bit less by like a few frames

The only thing though, a laptop trying to run a game using all its power gets really hot, really fast.

Hum, plays better on my X1200 and it's lower end. But I have more than two times the RAM so.. that may explain it.
