The best way to get rid of Hemorrhoids is 40,000 or less Cayenne Pepper applied DIRECTLY to the source. It burns like hell and its 2 hours of wishing you didn't do it, but I myself had deep dark purple (clotted) ones and I tried it and 1 application made them soft and pain free 4 hours later. I plan to do a water and cayenne mix to get the rest inside. My uncle recommended me to this and I can't wait to get rid of them for good.

I wonder if excessive damp and cold around your behind can also contribute. At school we were always being told not to sit on the cold concrete walls because we would develop the piles.

@TerminallyPsychotic Hemorrhoids can be categorized on a scale from  1, 2, 3 to 4 (worst). Now if you're suffering from the pain it's like a sickness/medical condition one has to treat. You don't want type 4 hemorrhoids - they hurt/itch/burn like hell. Treating the lower types isn't that difficult and once they're not external anymore you can start exercising/doing anything you want ;)

@bludwork Obviously hygiene has something to do with your health overall, but no matter how "clean" you are you can get hemorrhoids if you have bad bowel habits, genetics, etc.
