In the previous video about the holiday's i very dryly examined the unifying nature of the holidays stating quite brilliantly that the more people try to differentiate themselves by celebrating different holidays the more they remain the same in that they are celebrating...

in the comments that followed a thread developed that I simply must address, a young lady had a 10 year old brother and was contemplating telling him that Santa is not real... loads of people weight in on this very important subject... and now so shall I.

First who was this Saint Nickolas this Christ Kringle this Santa Clause... history tells us that a 4th century Christian priest who lived in the Middle East in an area of present-day Turkey became famous for his kindness sprinkling gold own the chimney of less fortunate people.

through the years generosity and giving during the holidays has grown and abounded into one of the most time honored threads in the fabric of humanity. Children opening presents on Christmas morning while parents relive there own childhood through the younger eyes of there progeny. There is a magic to gift giving, a spirit that can never be killed and never die.

Santa is as real as a parents' love for their children. He cannot be measured or witnessed, but he exists in every act of kindness that is perpetrated in the hearts and spirits of giving during the holidays. . . I am continually humbled at peoples generosity toward there fellow man. Does Santa Exist? Absolutely, without a doubt. I saw him today as a well dressed man giving a homeless guy five bucks... does he fly around on a magic sleigh pulled by reindeer... I can't think of a better way for the spirit of giving to get around the world in one night.
