There are many things we do not know and need help with. Even if we don't know how God will help, the least we can do is ask. Gohmert does not say that a certain religion is the right one and does not take away from the freedom of religion. It is sad that our country does not recognize this truth
-
What Gohmert is saying is that we need to recognize that there is a God that is much more powerful and knowledgeable then we could ever be, a God who helps us. we need to recognize this the same way that the fathers of this country did when they created the constitution. They may not have known who God is and how he works, but at least they realized that there is a God and that without His help we are constructing in vain.

Is this really what we need to be worrying about right now... national "mottos". Just another right wing religious nut. Vote these idiots out people.

Republicans are worthless. Vote them out of office, next year...
To reaffirming "in god we trust" is to deny the freedom of religion to constituents of all creeds. This has to be one of the most ignorant movements passes by the House.
"We have abundant reason to rejoice that in this Land the light of truth and reason has triumphed over the power of bigotry and superstition, and that every person may here worship God according to the dictates of his own heart..." (Washington, 1/27/1793).

Wow. I've only been sleeping for 8 hours but I'm assuming that the debt, homelessness, war, and healthcare issues have been solved overnight being that you are taking time to discuss this completely pointless issue. I'm going to run to the clinic so I can get my cancer vaccine right now. Thanks Louie Gohmert!
