heavy bowguns are very effective against this monster once you know its attack and movement patterns.
green congalala is a little different in terms of attack patterns as there are moves the normal congalala
does not have.

whenever he puffs up his stomach and hits it, he will unleash a fart with a big range. If you are in front of him when he does this, you should be safe. If you are behind him, you had better roll out of the way as the fart range behind him is alot bigger.

when green congalala is in rage mode, he will give off small farts after some attacks. For example, he jumps into the air and lands on the ground or he claws the ground 4 times before falling over. Before he gets up, he will do a small fart attack. If you are a distance away from his butt, you should be fine as the range is not that big.
If you try to trap him in a pitfall trap while he is in rage mode, his butt will be on the surface and he will also do a small fart.

you should get a heavy bowgun with at least ice shot and normal shot lv2capabilities as green congalala is weak to ice. Bringing materials for ice shot, normal shot lv2, flash bombs and traps will make your life easier.
Since ice shot is an ice element PIERCE shot, you should havce a little creful aiming before shooting. You do not want to shoot an ice shot that would only go through 1 hitzone. But you should not take too much time aiming either or you would not have enough time to shoot when he turns to you. I do not usually use the scope, but rather roughly aim and shoot. It is easier for me as it does not take up too much time. But you should find your own playing style against him to suit you best.

weapon:
Uca heavy bowgun (you can attach a shield to your gun if you are not confident of your abilities) p.s. blocking fart attacks will still give you the fart's anti-potting effect

skills: evade +2 evade Inc speed fire ( i do not have to reload my bullets when i shoot, until i change my bullets)

correction - Freeze S is not a PIERCE type, it is just a NORMAL type.

P/S : WATER S is PIERCE type.
