Thanks for this great video. Very helpful. I've got one of my dogs walking (trotting, actually) on the treadmill very nicely, although I've been keeping her leashed all the time. So I'll have to rethink that. The other dog will walk but only for food, then he wants off. I'll start over with him and use your method of on and off three times.

For the dogs who will only walk for food it may just be a matter of him not liking the treadmill. Most dogs love it once they figure it out, but there are some who simply don't like it.

Great video....your two fuzzy dogs looks like my Kona. Are they Havanese?

Those were a client's dogs I had with me for training. I believe they Maltepoos (Maltese Poodles).

This is a good point. I'm pretty sure I mention never leaving your dog unattended while leashed, but I agree that harnesses are safer. Why didn't you suggest this before I made the video? :)

Treadmill comes in handy in bad weather that's for sure. How does the dog pick the speed of the treadmill? This I have got to see!

Yeah sometimes it's just too cold and sometimes its just too dang hot even dangerous on occasion but also some dogs have such high energy levels that unless a human were in peak physical condition and could afford the time they could never meet their dogs exersize needs. I have also seen treadmills that the dog can walk on whenever they want and at any speed they choose and they use it often. a dog can enjoy a treadmill as much as a human
