@sonikitty Spot on. Jason worked harder during SM3 time on his songwriting as he had Sonic to compete and compare with, they were as you said a band. That said the 1st Spiritualized LP is the equal of his SM3 work - it is almost Recurring part 2 - as he had something to prove both to himself and to Sonic. The second album was only half as good as he became obsessed with production and songs were secondary. I saw them in Belfast in 95 and they were still amazing live even though I was on acid!
