Frankie builds a fire in the fireplace, then tells Cass that she finally got Christy to lie down. Cass asks if Frankie thinks Christy will sleep. Frankie replies that Christy is heartsick about losing Douglas. (Not as heartsick as you might think, Frankie!) Cass says maybe Christy will feel stronger in the morning. Frankie says she's never seen anyone grieve so deeply. Cass frames Frankie's face in his hands and kisses her cheek, and she wraps her hands around his wrists. Christy interrupts them when she comes downstairs in a fire-engine red dress, all smiles, carrying a bottle of champagne and three glasses and announces she wants to celebrate.
This is not a heartsick, deeply grieving widow, as far as I'm concerned!
Thanks to Janie for the scenes.
