Crude Trailer in HD.

Three years in the making, this riveting new documentary from acclaimed filmmaker Joe Berlinger (Brothers Keeper, Paradise Lost, Metallica: Some Kind of Monster) tells the epic story of one of the largest and most controversial legal cases on the planet. An inside look at the infamous $27 billion Amazon Chernobyl case, Crude is a real-life, high stakes legal drama involving global politics, the environmental movement, celebrity activism, human rights advocacy, multinational corporate power, and the fate of disappearing indigenous cultures. Subverting the conventions of advocacy filmmaking, this award-winning film explores a complex situation from all angles, bringing an important story of environmental peril and human suffering into focus. Rarely have such conflicts been examined with the depth and power of Joe Berlinger‚s documentary Crude. These real characters and events play out on the screen like a sprawling legal thriller. - Stephen Holden, The New York Times

  • wow that is sad, very sad, when will this stop, is it going to stop when there is no other place they can get what they want. our planet is getting destroy and the indigenous people are paying this price . but soon all of us will too.

  • the same thing is happening with the mining industries in argentina, bolivia, guatemala, mexico, and many other latin american countries...the cash-poor, corrupt governments allow the companies in with their enormous cash flows, and the people - typically indigenous - obviously have no power to stop them. the gov'ts consent because they need anything to help their economies. our own history of nefarious involvement in latin america obliges us to support the downtrodden people now.

  • @JenniMystic what you say is true, but thats why people must stand up and attend protests, and attend rallys and maybe those facebook groups do make a small difference because it raises awareness, those people wouldnt have known before seeing this film and it takes every last bit of someone who used to be ignorant to see a movie like this , one step closer to making change

  • @ciencordobas I would like to add that the "Cash-poor" countries where made poor by the System we support. The Monetary System! IMF WTO World Bank. these are the companies that strike first. then you get "Cash Poor" and then other corporations come in. Its Nearly a planned game (I think its planned, but still never seen the plans my self.)

  • The love of money is the root of all evil

  • @angmgpp Just saw this last night - AWESOME :o! As for that guy u mentioned, we don't have to worry about him anymore - he was recently convicted of fraud (amongst other things). But this movie, I must say is somewhat biased in favor of the natives. Both sides say things reasonable and unreasonable. Hope I'm not pissing off any Ecuadorians; just trying to think critically here :)

  • in the movie one of texaco lawyer says that people in Ecuador have skin and other health problems cuz the way we live.... I would like to say to that lawyer, aren´t you looking what is going on in Golfo de Mexico? We CAN prove our case. But sadly people is living for money and they forget to respect life.

  • @01jerm10 you are right, I invite you to look in youtube "Sarayacu" they are real warriors from Ecuador. This are indeginius people who fought agains military and an argentinian oil company :)

  • This kind of stuff will only stop when people stop talking about how bad it is and start actually standing up together to fight it.
