If you learn to read music, you can learn to write music down, which means that you can share your music with others. It also means that you can share in the music of others.
In any case, truly traditional music education, when followed through, teaches people to be able to just play. I have been in music education since I was 4 and I can play, without music, in the styles of composers from the renaissance to the present. And you do not need to be an expert in your instrument to get a degree.
@emeraldomusik There are a set of chords from our "Black Gospel Series" that are meant for organ where the lowest note is actually played on the foot pedal. Otherwise the chords can be played with two hands. othewise on a "piano" you would have to leave a note out.
i have tried some chords on guitar, but.......i need some more strings and some more fingers on my left hand. I doubt that even advanced piano players can press all the keys at once, but i admit the result is excellent.
14:00 dude, relax. You don't have to get all emotional, lol. You make some good points, though.
Some people actually learn better by hearing things being called out, rather than by reading, however.
If you have the skills to learn "by ear", Memorization can be useful, because as you become accustomed to the various sounds, you are able to recognize those sounds in other songs. But, of course, that's assuming you already know the "secrets".
You was on point with that, I know some keyboard players just like that can play that sheet music but can't even create with out it and, MAN!!, I will be ordering you that, Much Love my brother, keep it up
