Karen had one of the purest voices of all time.

Couple this with the harmonies the Carpenters did and it is a real masterpiece.

The kind of voice that stops you in your tracks and you have to listen.

Not bad for a drummer who never wanted to sing in the first place.

Karen comes second to only one singer Barbra Streisand.

I remember this from 40 years ago like it was yesterday.

How i wish i could go back in a time machine to 1973.

Sadly music today is not a patch on this

i wouldnt say Karen comes second to Streisand-, they are very different singers. Stresiand has the range but the technical ability and clarity of Karen's voice is far superior to Streisands (who I am also a big fan of). I think its difficult to compare vastly different singers as worse or better- for what she did Karen came second to no-one.
