This was the very first show I ever saw on Broadway! It's so amazing you have this footage!

O my GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!! She is freakin amazing......like the one thing that is just so immaculate is that she is just so classical with that role....just the way her mucles in her face are built and she is just so beautiful i can't say one negative comment about this video except the quality which isnt her fault

Man, if you put Christine Ebersole and rebecca Luker in the same theatre at the same time, they could sing the walls down. What a voice.

@rosielxxrik It was subtle at parts, dynamics of both sound and emotion implemented, not just a loud woman with a good voice and a better image belching this at the top of her lungs. this is the closest performance to that ive found. Sorry for writing so much. the song just means so much to me personally.

@rosielxxrik My point is that I first heard this beautiful song not from the movie, not from the original, not from professionals, but from a young, immensely gifted girl, untainted, like a diamond in the rough. She sang with passion, the whole audience was literally captivated by her song.

@rosielxxrik My point is, you could have a fantastic voice, but just not be cut out for this song. Alot of the professionals who preform this have a talented voice, yet it just feels rushed, devoid of passion, like they're singing the lyrics yet arent listening to what theyre saying.
@rosielxxrik "belting" at the top of her lungs. not "belching"

Interesting that she starts the song in a key lower than the original, but goes to the original key in the recit portion and at the reprise at the end. Nice dramatic build and allows her beautiful soprano range to shine. I saw her perform this role and she was wonderful. A worthy successor to Barbara Cook.
