  • its remember my Philips K4 color tv set..

  • Id still like to see what this TV was all about. You seem to enjoy bragging about this TV, like American TV's were junk. Do you own a working example of this philips K4?

  • wow those were the days when they were made to look like a regular piece of furniture like a dresser or something, that's awesome that it still works, it looks like some of the picture is not on the screen though

  • Thanks-

These round tube color TV's miss showing important or usefull information normally found in the corner of a rectangular screen set. Just the nature of the design.

  • @chabba77 Hi, you are right about TV station logo!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I also love rounded screens for this reason!

  • @drh4683 That would be a big advantage today. The round screen hides those stupid logo bugs on every channel. One less bit of clutter.

  • These old Zenith sets had all of the resistors, capacitors etc hand wired underneath the tube chassis. A lot easier to fix that working on tiny parts on a circuit board. Todays circuit boards are nearly impossible to fix because of the size. You have to replace the entire board. Or just do as I do, buy another TV.

  • well one good thing about a round TV is it cuts off the bug and other screen clutter in the corner of the screen. I used to enjoy tinkering on old tube TV sets when I was in Vo-tech back in the early 80's. with new sets, I don't have a clue how to fix them. The only old TV I have is a 74 RCA. Works the last time i plugged it in but its a piece of junk my brother got from an apartment he was cleanning out.

  • bad colour quality at my advise, certainly good for 60's:)

  • You know what I'd like to see on this? Hooked up to DVD player with Star Trek Original Series playing. This TV probably was used when the episodes were originally broadcast.

  • Very nice! 21FJP22?

  • my parents had one of these. the channel switch would get scratchy and a little tap would fix it

  • Such an old set,yet such good colours...no offense for LCD lovers, but CRTs will always have better colours than LCDs.

  • Now that is a BEAUTIFUL set!!!!!!!!!! My floor model is an 87 Magnavox - it works sometimes and sometimes not. I collect old t.v.s my oldest being a Sears 78 b/w and newest being the formentioned Magnavox. I have 6 old t.v.s and my most recent 1 a big-knobbed 13-in. Sharp. Yours is very VERY beautiful!!!!
