This newsflash is missing the whole story. The Pakistani gov didn't Encourage Taliban to operate in Waziristan. They've got no choice. The Pakistani army Can't get into Waziristan because the Taliban and its supporters are preventing it. The Pakistani army may be inefficient, but its fighting the same people in Waziristan as NATO is fighting in Afghanistan.

As long as the Taliban have a safe haven in Pakistan, and the US continues to "respect" Pakistan's borders, the Taliban cannot be completely defeated. Don't be so sure that will always be the same.
