Looking for a peaceful resolution, Pakistan promises to stay out of the Taliban-controlled territory of Waziristan in the North if al Qaeda just promises to "behave themselves".

"We will make no distinction between the terrorists and those who harbor them." - President Bush, giving cause to invade Iraq in his 2003 State of the Union speech.

  • Go to pushtun awareness or type pathan and look for pusthun awarness and you tell me what is pakistan and what is not pakistan before you become of something so evil and ecourage the abuse of our people my dear,

  • No slight against the people of Karachi, but when the Pakistan government declares a "safe zone" in which they promise neither police nor military will enter to pursue Taliban members/supporters, then the government is indeed giving sanctuary to terrorists.

  • This video is bullshit in the first place, the deal is with the Pakhtuns who live inside pakistan. The deal says that no one will give shelter to any fighters. This fuckings news said it saves osama and mullah omar, fucking shit, I am in pakistan and they are fucking wanted here. This is a propaganda news. America doesn't even have a free media, cia controlled. Democracy my ass.

  • The Pakistani government's "official" line is that OBL and Omar are wanted, but their actions do not match their rhetoric. Mushariff says the story is untrue, but he will not allow U.S. forces to enter that same region to hunt for them. The very fact you posted your comment on an American based website directly contradicts your "no free media" claim.

  • When was this broadcast?

  • I hope it does become an independent nation. Then it will no longer be protected by "Pakistan's sovereignty", and they can get the shit kicked out of them like they deserve for being a welcoming home to terrorists. The only reason the U.S. doesn't go into Waziristan is to avoid offending Pakistan.

  • "The Pakistani army Can't get into Waziristan because the Taliban and its supporters are preventing it"

I thought the main object of war was to make the enemy unable to stand in your way ie to kill them.

  • Waziristan will be an independent nation Inshallah!!

  • This newsflash is missing the whole story. The Pakistani gov didn't Encourage Taliban to operate in Waziristan. They've got no choice. The Pakistani army Can't get into Waziristan because the Taliban and its supporters are preventing it. The Pakistani army may be inefficient, but its fighting the same people in Waziristan as NATO is fighting in Afghanistan.

  • Pakistan always been a terrorist supporting nations but US stayed mum now when they do it with talibans then suddenly they are the bad guys eh? Double standard fuckers. How many kashmiri innocent ppl died when you help ISI with money and arms? You have to pay for it all soon very soon.

  • If armies of Americans were going into Canada and slaughtering people, you can be damn sure that Americans would kill Americans to put a stop to it. Also rest assured that Canadians would rightfully condemn America for its actions (or lack of actions) if America didn't stop it. Why is that so confusing?

  • It's not a matter of strength. It's a matter of will. As long as the Taliban have a safe haven in Pakistan, and the US continues to "respect" Pakistan's borders, the Taliban cannot be completely defeated. Don't be so sure that will always be the same. For now, the Taleban can always flee to Pakistan to regroups when they face defeat.

  • I think the Biggest Mistake Pakistan has done by giving place to Afghan Refugees to live in Pakistan,
