The song title: "I Want a Big Butter and Egg Man" ~ Sung by Paul Woltz
This is song was written by Percy Venable in 1926.

I recorded this tune during one of the sets of the Uptown Lowdown Jazz Band at The 17TH ANNUAL GLACIER JAZZ STAMPEDE.

This fabulous traditional jazz festival always happens in early October at Kalispell, Montana.

The Uptown Lowdown Jazz Band is one of the most popular bands on the dixieland/trad jazz circuit today, and I can never seem to get enough of their spectacular music.

Band Members:
Bert Barr - Cornet / Leader / Vocals
Rose Barr - Piano
Tom Jacobus - Trombone
Paul Woltz - Reeds / Vocals
John Goodrich - Reeds / Vocals
Paul Hagglund - Tuba
Al LaTourette - Banjo

Check out the websites above for more information and CD's.

I hope you can be there in 2011!

  • I like this song very much, always better with the vocals off (like Bobby Hackett's, i.e.) but it's all about tastes.
