A biblical parable.
The Book of the Song of Solomon ("The Song of Songs") is currently my favorite book of the Bible as it talks about the greatest love story yet to come. The Love between Christ, our bridegroom, and us, His soon to be Bride.
Music: "God, I love you so" by Freddy Hayler.

ALL QUOTES ARE VERSES TAKEN OUT OF THIS BOOK:

By night on my bed I sought the one I love;
I sought him, but I did not find him. (3:1)

I will rise now, I said,
And go about the city;
In the streets and in the squares
I will seek the one I love.

I sought him, but I did not find him. (3:2)

I have come to my garden, my sister, my spouse;
I have gathered my myrrh with my spice;
I have eaten my honeycomb with my honey;
I have drunk my wine with my milk. (5:1)

I sleep, but my heart is awake;
It is the voice of my beloved!

He knocks, saying,

Open for me, my sister, my love,
My dove, my perfect one;
For my head is covered with dew,
My locks with the drops of the night. (5:2)

I have taken off my robe;
How can I put it on again?
I have washed my feet;
How can I defile them? (5:3)

My beloved put his hand
through the opening of the door,
And my heart yearned for him. (5:4)

I opened for my beloved,
But my beloved had turned away and was gone.
My heart leaped up when he spoke.
I sought him, but I could not find him;
I called him, but he gave me no answer.
(5:6)

"I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem,
If you find my beloved,
That you tell him I am lovesick!"
(5:8)

"What is your beloved
More than another beloved,
O fairest among women?
What is your beloved
More than another beloved,
That you so charge us?"
(5:9)

"His countenance is like Lebanon,
Excellent as the cedars.
His mouth is most sweet,
Yes, he is altogether lovely."
(5:15-16)

"Where has your beloved gone,
O fairest among women?
Where has your beloved turned aside,
That we may seek him with you?"
(6:1)

"My beloved has gone to his garden,
To the beds of spices,
To feed his flock in the gardens,
And to gather lilies.
I am my beloveds,
And my beloved is mine."
(6:2-3)

"Set me as a seal upon your heart,
As a seal upon your arm;
For love is as strong as death [...]
Its flames are flames of fire,
A flame of the Lord."
(8:6)

  • He was a carmelite monk who explained all verses, step by step.

    I thank you LoveGodEndlessly to have put this song on you tube, since I heard it, it became one of my favourite songs and I suggest you to watch the film 'Esther' too, where the scenes are coming from... you will understand much more about love than you ever did.

  • @BlackoutUnit My pleasure. But if i had not yet watched the movie 'Esther' how do you think i came up with the idea of cutting those scenes together in order to create this video? Just wondering how that would have worked. ;-)

  • I don't believe that you loveGodendlessly. What is proof that you love God endlessly?

  • @DepartmentOfLove - My youtube-name wasn't supposed to be a statement about a personal achievement but rather something i would like to request from everyone to consider in their daily lifes.

    We all should never forget the greatest commandment of all, that is to love God with all our heart, mind and soul.

    To love God endlessly should be the goal of our life. That's what I meant when I chose my youtube-name.

  • @LoveGodEndlessly

    Dear brother in humanity

    Loving God doesn't enough. You should prove by following His commandments. Not only just wanting and saying by mouth that i love this and this and this. Follow His commandments then you will be a lover of Creator, according to me

  • @DepartmentOfLove Actually I am not a brother, but rather a Christian woman. I always try to follow God's commandments to the best of my understanding. Never said I would not.

    And loving God is keeping His commandments as He commanded us to do so. Jesus even called it the greatest commandment. That is why I try to make it my main goal.

  • This language sounds so weird? what is this? :)

  • Why they call their lover their sister, spouse and beloved?? Why sister?:)

  • People all have honey tongues only. But hardly to really do anything real, even to their very own precious love life. :) While, make two hearts as wholly one, is also very difficult, and we all need to pray for it, and it is the bliss. We dreamed of. :) Feeling so amazing in Solomon movie, he even loved and married with a black Queen? Is this real? :)

  • It is beautiful. But, Solomon also is like his father David, not be able to focus on their own love to one woman. And we also will hardly truly find one people man or woman be able to do so. :) History keep on going on and on. It is a pity, also myth, why is so then? :) Just felt very amazed. :)

  • This is beautiful, and I'm not trying to ruin the beauty, but you do know that the Shulamite woman was black. Chapter 1, Verse 5 "Beloved: I am black, but comely, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, as the tents of Kedar, as the curtains of Solomon."

  • I've read all comments and i'm wondering about all you said here. Let me tell you: this book is in first place a book of world literature and tells about he holyness of two people who love each other. Yes, it tells about sex but in the way of an holy act and love isn't a game to satisfy only desire. Later it was seen as a parable of our love to Jesus Christ. If you want to know more about this, read St. John from the holy cruice (Hl. Johannes vom Kreuz).

  • Logically - the Song of Songs is much older than the story of Jesus Christ. It was a hymn of love from Ishtar to Tammuz (Eve and Adam). So obviously it's still about Christ and our love for him, but don't obscure the truth here... the Sacred marriage is not sinful, it's of the highest consciousness. Still, there are dark issues of the soul, that the two of them EXPOSED - religion will not accept it, so what does that mean?

  • @DepartmentOfLove YOU ARE SO FUNNY!
