This is a Bask folksong about a "maitee", which means "sweethart". Played as a duet on two Bocarinas, followed by the same on the 'Hendrik Komen, Silver Star noseflutes. Many Bask songs know a European version and a Southamerican, more rythmic version. Why? Because the Bask were singers and whale-catchers, When the whales dissappeared from their Gulf of Biscaya, the Bask fishermen followed them to countries where they could catch them. Chile is such a country in which a big Bask colony is settled. There were born the Soutamerican versions of their songs.
The Basks have a rich folksong culture.
