Banal lyrics-I don't think so. Lou strips his music back to the bone.He always tries to challenge himself and the musical structure of his songs-he always has.If you want him to sound exactly like his recordings the best advice is don't listen, because you'll only ever be disappointed. It's a very NY sound-a bit arty, may be self absorbed even pompous at worst, but never musically/lyrically shallow or banal. He's authentic and an innovator.

This is the ONLY version of this song on the net!!! You surely won't find his good songs online if you don't know they exist---and the studio version is GREAT!

Not at all. I know music and performance very well. This is truly on the low end of the creative scale.

A slow, lazy, sinister feel to it all.
Genius, showing off at leisure.

you're very very ignorant...
I just read in Wire that Lou Reed and Laurie Anderson jammed with John Zorn. Thats so cool that it brought a tear to my eye.
