  • Nicely done! Totally gave myself a little bit of motion sickness trying to track the ground during descent. The sound is crazed! Looking forward to the next one.

  • @docsake Next one will be perfect !! ty

  • wow this is really good. i bet it would be ultra stable if you could install a small gyro scope. you could use a pwm gyro to save power too and keep the weight of the additional batteries down. it would be awesome if you could get a live link with a controllable camera, you could use an auto tracking 5ghz ground transmitter/reciever to communicate with a bottom mounted parabolic dish on the unit then a simple servo driven camera controller. ul get 1080p realtime easy.

  • @prankmypants Thank you for the advice. At first I wanted to put a gyroscope with two small cd/engines. I did some testing and it was not very conclusive because a small gyro is not enough to prevent too high amplitudes. There is also the weight problem, a gyroscope is heavy. I opted for a system to stabilize as we see in professional film with a scale system. I unfortunately , before launch the balloon, not adjusted correctly the center of gravity and that is why the camera moves so much.

  • Do you need to have permission before launching?

  • @dinmagic Of course, you have to, for example in France, request authorization from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGAC). And the balloon was also equipped with a radar reflector to prevent any flying object.

  • ładnie spada

  • Tellement fière de toi ce jour là.

  • How far approximately did the camera land from the start position?

  • what is the altitude reached please?

thanks again for this wonderful vid !!!!

  • I launched my balloon this past weekend with 3 cameras and a GoPro. The GoPro froze 53 minutes in, and it was still dark so I didn't get the sunrise :( My page has the video and pics, check it!!!

  • @viksra In the US, it is the FAA and the FSS you need to go through.

  • WICKED VIDEO!

  • @bilaliz I know the temperatures are cold, but because there's little to no air in the immediate surrounding space of the camera, I am wondering how is it that the heat is dissipated from the camera's electronics so that it's not overheated.

  • @viksra the temps are ultra cold up there, if any thing the camera could freeze

  • i must say i am no expert, actually not even a novice, but to keep the balloon longer in space, one could inflate a secondary balloon with a tiny (calculated) amount of gas that will expand as it the balloon goes up, and keep the camera afloat once the primary balloon bursts near space. i think it could even be placed inside the primary balloon near the end of inflation of the primary balloon.

    nice video though
