Hey Gabriel I am reading your book right now and wanted to see some video of lettuce picking and found this! The book is great so far and very enlightening. I am American and lived in Mexico for several years, and have many immigrant (both legal and not legal) friends. Though I never worked in the fields, I've worked among them in other jobs, and like you, took on a whole new appreciation of their culture. They embraced me as one of their own. Currently married 10 yrs to a Mexican girl.

i worked in the lettuce fields in the late 70s throughout the 80s i was on a ground crews called trios one of the last co was gabilan packing in the salinas valley at that time we were paid piece rate of .75 per case esas eran chingas
