An obscure classic from the 70s recently re-released on CD, Lady Lake is a dark symphonic epic in the vein of other early, blues-inspired progressive rock. The band draws from the sounds of early Tull, Gentle Giant and Van Der Graaf Generator, while adding more folk and medieval touches due to the prominent addition of woodwind instruments. The keyboard presence is sparse, with the exception of a small bit of piano on "Same Dreams", but is not missed.

  • i owned this album in the 70s and one of my biggest regrets is that i sold it with my entire record collection when i was 17. nice to hear it again. now i know its on cd i will get a copy as it brings back a lot of happy memories'

  • Like Gentle Giant which I think is the most comparable band Gnidrolog was extremely profiled among the progg elite and maybe with more mystique

  • Hadnt heard theese guys before, absolutely astonished, thanks for the up :) <3

  • The answer I'm looking for is: Yes, I will buy this CD.

  • This album is fantastic!

  • Wonderful song, just a fantastic and unjustly ignored album. Awesome to hear from Stewart Goldring and long live Gnidrolog!

  • Ok, the competition was definitely tough for progressive bands in the 70s with such monsters as Genesis, Yes, ELP, Jethro Tull, King Crimson etc. But I can't bring myself to believe that this album and In spite... are still relatively unknown in the progressive rock community. I had heard nothing of the band myself until 2005 or so but when I listened to the samples on their website I was hooked and left wanting with more until I found the cds. Long Live Gnidrolog!
