@sexyngayCO can you and irish stop CAPITALIZING EVERY OTHER WORD! Thank you. Electric BRUSHED motors produce ozone, most electric cars have BRUSHLESS motors. Like you said, we NEED to diversify our form of energy. Coal, gas, DIESEL, it's all in the same family, HYDROCARBONS. With MORE an more "clean" sources of electricity, an electric car is getting better and BETTER. In short, suck my NUTS.

@GofCis Take a basic science class before you respond with you ignorant comment. Electric motors PRODUCE ozone. In the ozone layer it's not toxic. BUT breathing ozone is toxic. Hence OZONE alerts in all major cities when the temps rise. Coal burning is efficient, however, if we double the electrical demand, there is no way the coal plants can keep up with the demand. Face it, humans use energy and a diverse form of energy is the only way we can keep costs down.
-
@theden0minat0r What record are you talking about. Electric cars ARE coal burning cars. If you want to see your electric bills spike, start plugging in millions of coal burning cars at the capacity the trains can deliver the fuel and we are all fucked. Simple equation... Supply and demand.
-
@irish42matic Produce ozone? Do you know what the ozone layer is...? I can tell you that's false. Even if our electricity was generated 10-% by fossil fuels (which it isn't), a coal fire plant is much more efficient for the energy it creates, than a car. A plant has much tighter restrictions than an individual car, so when you look at the big picture if everyone drove electric cars it would use a lot less fossil fuels.

@theden0minat0r Uhm, actually no. The energy loss in a fuel cell is no more than in batteries. Look it up, im 99% sure this is true. Granted, fuel cells are much more costly as of now. Most people assume that to power a fuel cell car hydrogen will have to be trucked around when in face producing hydrogen by electrolysis is very simple. I did it for my 6th grade science project. So that eliminates the transportation of fuel if youProduceItAt home.ItWouldBeAlmostExactlyLik

@th3muff1nman True, but it requires quite a bit of electricity to create enough hydrogen to power a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle. Much more electricity than it would needed to just plug in your electric car.
-
@flokoflyngsegals Yes, Electric cars are more expensive, but they might not always be. Also, the electric cars that were built then, and are being built today have to pass the safe safety standards as any other car. They're probably not as dangerous as you think.
-
@irish42matic Just for the record, that is completely factually untrue...
-
The kid is just spewing the same bullshit his ignorant granola parents are spewing. Electric motors produce OZONE! Much more caustic to your lungs than carbon emissions ever have been. PLUS, where does the electricity come from? The granola thinks it comes from a plug. IT COMES FROM COAL BURNING POWER PLANTS. IF EVERYONE USED ELECTIC CARS WE WOULD BE PRODUCING MORE GREENHOUSE GASES! Idiots, you can't get away from using energy. no matter what you drive, you use fossil fuels!
-
oohhh.....6th grade science fair.....and it mite not pollute, but its expensive and very dangerous
Excellent presentation!

Nobody should buy ANY cars until the automobile companies produce viable electric and plug in hybrid cars.
