@Standby111rs A Riff doesn't have to be fast to be brutal. Name me a fast Riff that is heavier than 'The Thing That Should Not Be'. Don't get me wrong. Another Lesson in Violence by Exodus is fast and it Kills! But there is more to a Riff than just speed.

@screechingcoxy Yeah, That damn 10 minute restriction really pisses me off sometimes. Couldn't fit any more in. You sometimes have to compromise. But everyone know what's coming next anyway with that song :-) Yes, 'The Thing that should not be' seems to be the marmite of the thrash metal world. You either love it or hate it. @sapiopneumoni It is indeed a true Thrash Metal Masterpiece. I just never tire of hearing that song. It's perfect. Not even Holy Wars could replace it and that is a stunning composition from Dave.

its obvious to tell he's biased, I saw your top ten thrash metal bands and you put Exodus at the top their too.

@FunkyPopeye I am a massive Exodus fan. And proud of it. But check out other thrash bands on the site. I don't just promote the well known thrash bands. If I was just biased towards Exodus I would just make an Exodus worship site. But I admit they do tend to come high on all the lists.

@xBchify Not according to Destruction, Tankard, Whiplash, Onslaught and Evile :-) I think both terms are universally used to be honest courtesy of Mega"Deth" probably
