we learned quadratic formula in algebra, last year when i was 12. of course i didn't understand it so i just went with the flow and used it to find the X intercepts of my parabola. this video helped me understand how it was derived...

this is like one week of math class condensed into 46 seconds

Very good video ! it helped me a lot !

@koolkidds69skateteam in algebra 2 you learn completing the square but you won't have to prove the quadratic formula. Your teacher might derive the quadratic formula to show when completing the square can be used.

I'm doing this right now. Hard. Espcially when "i" comes into play. Who ever heard of a fake number?

Nice.
But at 0:04, it should be "equation", not "function".
And at 0:11, the lower anotation, you say you take the half of bx/a, but you actually take the half of b/a.

@TyYann thanks for letting me know. It would be function if it was f(x) = ax^2 + bx +c but since it's ax^2 + bx + c = 0 it's an equation.

@v00per yeah I'm about to add annotations with explanations so that it hopefully makes more sense. I'm glad it made you happy :)
