Atari 2600 Superman "No bridge explode" cheat

This video demonstrates a cheat in the game Superman for the Atari 2600. The cheat prevents the destruction of the Metropolis Memorial Bridge, enabling you to beat the game by simply rounding up Lex Luthor and all henchmen and putting them behind bars. Redundant bridge pieces also appear in the Blue subway.

To activate the cheat, prior to starting the game press and hold the fire button to activate Superman's X-ray vision. Then press right to look at the bridge scene, then up, left, down, right and release the fire button to begin play. You skip over changing into Clark Kent, as well as the bridge destruction sequence, thereby shortening the game considerably. If you're fast and lucky, you can capture all the criminals and beat the game in a very fast time.

This video was created using Stella 2.7.7 and captured with CamStudio 2.00. When I recorded this video, camstudio defaulted to capture audio from the built in mic, which is why the sound is so quiet and you can hear the clicking of my keypresses on the keyboard as I play.
