@SidMisfit To further my point, if you are talking about 'brutal' and the best examples you can give me are Cannibal Corpse and Dying Fetus then you have clearly no idea of the full spectrum of death metal and its counter parts. Listen to 'Gore and Perversion 2' by Desecration, Baphomets 'The Dead shall inherit', Defleshuary 'Feasting on torso', Putrid Inbred 'Flesh over religion' or even Cryptopsy's 'None so vile' and then come back and talk about 'brutal'.

@SidMisfit Dude death metal is a diverse genre and it doesn't all have to be brutal or as you'd probably put it 'br00talz'. If all death metal sounded like CC it would soon get boring as surprise cannibal corpse are shit. The first two album were good then it went downhill. CC in general is for pussies. I listen to most subs of death metal and most are good, melodic death metal is one of them. Death's 'Voice of the Soul' is melodic yet they are one of the pioneers of death metal.

It's true that some are suggestive, but you can look at similar groups, even THE SAME people and tell the difference between "Melodic death metal" and "death metal".
