in case you haven't noticed, neil peart is the most renown drummer/music writer, in the world. i play the drums, and suck, but just cause i see my idol playing a baddass solo, doesn't mean i can stop trying. keep playing, and think , how long must it have took for neil to get that good?

Peart is great on some many levels. He was one of the reasons I started playing 27 years ago. What sets him apart from other drummers is his great lyrics. Anthem, then 2112,Cygnus X-1 leading into Hemispheres book 2. Amazing detail put into the lyrics let alone the music which was so far ahead of it's time and mind blowing. I tried having my kids listen to them, they hate them, they would rather listen to lady ga ga. Kids today are musically retarded. Shame. There loss
