karla nash is the woman who was attacked by a two hundred-pound chimpanzee back in February if you remember that story she has made her first public appearance since the attack she went on oprahs show
and we have video of it

warning yeah everybody be careful here this is uh this is you know it's tough to look at to be honest with you so you know we kid around with eyemuff and earmuff the kids you really might wanna earmuff the kids on this one and maybe yourself uh so now having said that lets watch this may upset some viewers

a chimp attack back in February ripped off part
of a woman's face and on today's oprah winfrey
show charlotte nash revealed some of the damage

you can take the hat off uh the hat that comes off all right all right so the veil is lifted you know many people around the world want to get a picture of you you're aware of that right
I had, did hear that there are a lot of reporters in the beginning wanted to get a picture of you

Nash's face was injured when she was trying to get the chimp

all right wow man that's so tough you know how did it
get like that I just don't even understand you know how they do the facial reconstruction every once in a while
yeah you know obviously um I'm sure she's looking into it I would guess you know what's incredible about this story is she doesn't even know the extent of her injuries like she doesn't want to know she hasn't looked well she can't look in the mirror and the doctors would removed her eyes because um the chimp actually ripped off her eye lids oh

well that's what she looked like and it led to an infection and they had to get rid of her eyes so she has no idea what she looks like oh so she hasn't seen it well um I mean that╒s uh

that's a very faint blessing in disguise you know and but you know what it look the bottom line on it is obvious look the chimp attacked her what could she do you know and she got
her eyes ripped out etc, etc

it takes a lot of courage to hang in there you know and you got to give her a world credit um a lot of people uh might not have hung in there you know but she fought through it so

go ahead Jayar I know we're about to see the rest of the report but what was she doing, was she a trainer or something like that, what happened yeah I don't remember the story to clearly but I remember there was a chimpanzee

that had been domesticated, right and um out of nowhere this chimp lost it and attacked this woman if I'm remembering this story right from back in the day that it was a chimp that used to act I think he did yeah it was considered like a domestic uh very safe chimpanzee and it was her friends yes if I remember correctly and then uh
and of course what they always said is he's never ripped anyone's face off before yes right that cause he╒s a chimp and you never know when he's gonna do that so uh man sometimes you know we've talked about it before sometimes a guy you know a tree falls out of the woods
and gets stuck in your neck and sometimes

your over at your friends house and a chimp rips your face off enjoy every day man I know it's kind of a weird lesson to get out of it but

horrible that was I think we all agree on that
