My Nonno Brought this record with him when he immigrated from Piane Crati Cosenza, to Canada in 1952 at just 18 years old. He then recorded it to tape in the 70s and just recently I recorded it from tape to MP3 with a sound microphone recorder - so the quality is not so good.

I have fond memories of this tape as a boy when my dad would play it in the car. This is about half of the tape, I couldn't record it longer than the permitted time on Youtube (10 min)and maybe I will upload the rest at a later date.

However, It is comforting to know that this music or story of Immigrants leaving Calabria for a better life, will live on forever...

  • @marrazz Great Video. My mom asked my nono to make a tape of his life adventures in italy and then moving from italy to canada before he died. unfrotunatly he never got around to it. this makes me think of how great my nono was. thank you

  • My mother Anna Felice came from Piane Crati Cosenza in 1955 moved to Natal B.C. I brought her back 50 years later. It was like she was young at heart again to visit her homeland where her sister still lives. She married Emilio Ungaro. Such a small town they must know each other.

  • I have been searching for this for years. I would love to hear the second part of this. My dad would listen to this with tears in his eyes, this brings back beautiful memories.

  • Lou Monte - Lazy Mary
