R News reports on move-in activities for the Real RIT Dorm Challenge.
Break out the Raman noodles and the PlayStation. Some college administrators are feeling what it's like to live like college students.
Several RIT officials, including President Bill Destler, are moving onto campus as part of the "Real RIT Dorm Challenge." Administrators will eat campus food and room with students.
Organizers hope the experience helps school leaders in the choices they make affecting students.
"How having four roommates you need to manage time when everyone needs their own personal space. What it's like to be woken up at 2 a.m. by a fire alarm because someone burned a bag of popcorn. So get those kind of experience that you normally wouldn't get living in a house," said Ed Wolf, RIT student government president.
It sounded like a lot of fun three months ago, but this morning when I left my cozy house and having my cup of coffee I thought, leaving a big warm queen bed and moving into a twin top bunk seemed less exciting and parking. Normally I park closer being an administrator. Now I'm parking way out there," said Mary-Beth Cooper, VP, Student Affairs.
The program lasts for three days and two nights. The administrators will also blog about the dorm challenge. Visit the link below to read all about it.
